The first Métier Vélo Mountain Bike is a collaboration with Poly-Shape, an additive manufacturing company based in Salon-de-Provence, France. As it happens, Salon-de-Provence is near the famous Roc d’Azur mountain bike festival—races, rides, and bikes—from 4-8 October 2017, and Poly-Shape will be there with the Métier Vélo MTB!

We had a great time in Bristol at our first Bespoked UK show, 7-9 April 2017! We were in good company at Stand 57, with Steve and Rob of Rodford Built and Eric Estlund of Winter Bicycles as neighbors, and Craig Calfee and Rob English right nearby. We were surrounded by Bespoked Award winners, current and former! The weather was beautiful (really!), and we really enjoyed Bristol. The area of town around Brunel’s Old Station is being revitalized, and offers some great restaurants and pubs. We particularly enjoyed the Mud Dock Café, Pub, and Bikeshop. Everything good in one place: bikes, beer, and coffee. Not necessarily in that order.
The Métier Vélo website has been updated with the pricing and order info for 2017!
For 2017, Métier Vélo frames will be available in two editions: Classic and Team. Classic edition frames are US-sourced with lugs printed by GPI Prototypes on a 3D Systems DMP320 and tubes from RockWest Composites. Team edition frames are global, and feature lugs printed by Kanfit3D on an EOS 290 and and full custom, filament-wound tubes from Tim Crossman Composites in Ukraine. Frames are available as part of a complete bicycle package (best value) or with a fork, headset, and bottom bracket installed (a fuselage). Top reasons to consider a Métier Vélo:
We had a great time at NAHBS 2017 in Salt Lake City! Mountain Bike Pro and good friend Emma Maaranen helped out in the Métier Vélo booth and showed her custom do-it-all-road-bike. Thanks, Emma! Judging by the amount of dirt on the #EDIARB that I cleaned off for the show, it spends at least as much time off pavement as on.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth to have a look a the bikes and chat. We even had a cameo by Marty Jemison! How cool is that? Métier Vélo had some great media coverage. Check out these articles by Anna Schwinn (BikeRumor), James Huang (CyclingTips), and Nic Sims (Pez Cycling News). Thanks to Don Walker (NAHBS President and Founder) for having Métier Vélo at the show. We’re looking forward to NAHBS 2018, 16-18 February in Hartford CT! Here’s the latest info until I have time to update the Métier Vélo website.
Métier Vélo will show two bicycles at Bespoked: my personal ride built with lugs from GPI and tubes from RockWest Composites, and the latest Super 622 Evo with custom filament-wound tubes made exclusively for Métier Vélo by Tim Crossman Composites and Kanfit3D lugs. Both bicycles feature the exclusive and sexy MASM integrated saddle mount. See us there 7-9 April at Booth 57 in Bristol!
Been thinking about a custom frame? Going to NAHBS 2017 in Salt Lake City? I’m offering special pricing on a full custom Métier Vélo bicycle if you pick it up at the end of the show. Order by mid-January 2017 at the latest. Road, gravel, cross, MTB hardtail. Contact me for details.
Métier Vélo is pleased to offer custom, filament wound carbon fiber tubes from Tim Crossman Cycles. Tim is a framebuilder and custom tube entrepreneur based in Ukraine. Tim selects a carbon filament composition based on your requirements and fabricates a tubeset unique to your needs.
We are excited that Tim has designed a tubeset specifically for Métier Vélo frames. The Métier-Vélo-specific tubes include ovalized, tapered chainstays, a tapered top tube, a seat tube with reinforced clamp region, and super-slim, elegant 11mm seatstays. In addition, Tim Crossman tubes come in a range of standard sizes to meet every rider’s need. Stay tuned for some great frames built with Crossman tubes!
Consider a ready-to-race Métier Vélo bicycle. Complete with high-end wheels, powermeter, and top components, a complete Métier Vélo bicycle is in the same price range as a high-end manufactured bicycle from Cannondale or Trek.
With Métier Vélo, you're getting a full-custom bike, guaranteed for the life of the builder, with full no-questions crash repair or replacement. You're paying directly for the design, frame and components, not marketing, distribution, and dealers. Check out this blog entry on why you might consider a Métier Vélo bicycle.
