I am Métier Vélo. I have been riding and racing since 1982. I left a career in neuroscience research to start Métier Vélo LLC in 2013. Métier Vélo combines my passion for cycling with a creative process focused on thoughtful design, meticulous craftsmanship, durability and high performance. There are few occupations where meticulousness is a virtue; framebuilding is one of them.
I race a lot, mostly on the road, and Métier Vélo bicycles reflect a racing heritage, but one of the things I like most about cycling is that it allows you to know a region—either on roads or trails—with an intimacy that you cannot experience otherwise. I have favorite places that I would only have discovered through cycling, and I’m continually discovering more. Cycling has been a constant in my life and has always freed me from life's burdens. It has given me time and space to become content with existence (or as content as I am able). It is therapy as much as training. For me, the sublime experience of cycling—race or ride; training, transportation, or therapy—is all the more fulfilling on a finely crafted bicycle, one made with care and thoughtfulness. The best experiences of life are heightened on a bicycle. If I can build frames that bring this sense of the sublime to others, Métier Vélo will have achieved my goals. [email protected] |

I might look cute but don't mess with me.
Don’t mess with the tools. Hiss. Don't mess with my shop. I will bite your ankles. Don’t bother Jamie; that is my job and if you do it I will bite you. Unless I am busy biting his ankles. Or feet. Feet are so yummy. [email protected] |

I am on duty 24/7 with the mission to protect the shop and chase the ball, a task for which I have trained the human, although he often loses focus. Bad human.
I am an excellent judge of character. Jamie is ok. Except when he loses focus. Throw the ball. [email protected] |
